Short-term lenders under FCA meet the CSJ’s call for better, more affordable credit

Following the publication of Future Finance, the Centre for Social Justice’s report on financial inclusion, Russell Hamblin Boone, Chief Executive of the Consumer Finance Association, which represents some of the best-known short-term lenders, said:

“This report is a welcome step forward in improving access to credit for people with poor or impaired credit history. It correctly identifies that tighter regulation and a price cap have reduced supply but consumer demand remains high. Short-term lenders that respond to customers with convenient and flexible loans are well placed to meet the challenge of providing safe and affordable alternative finance for borrowers in the 21st century.”
